Let’s Talk About What’s Holding You Back

For many people, the desire to study the Bible, grow in faith, or step into a calling is there, but so are the questions.

“Can I afford it?”
“Do I even have time?”
“Is this the right season?”

At the Australian College of Christian Studies (ACCS), we hear these questions every day. If you’ve been wondering whether study is possible for you, you’re not alone.

Here are some of the most common concerns and how we approach them.

“I feel called… but life feels too full right now.”

This is one of the most honest and important questions.

Work, family, church, responsibilities, it can feel like there’s no space left for study.

But Scripture reminds us that God often calls us in the middle of life, not outside of it. Think of the disciples, ordinary people with responsibilities, who responded step by step.

At ACCS, we recognise that reality. Most of our students are juggling work, family, and ministry commitments.

That’s why we offer:

  • Flexible study options

  • The ability to study part-time or at your own pace

  • Online classes so you can study from anywhere

You don’t have to put your life on hold to say “yes” to God’s calling, you can walk it out, one step at a time.

“I’m worried I won’t be able to keep up.”

Stepping into study, especially if it’s been a while, can feel intimidating.

But you’re not expected to do this alone.

At ACCS, we’re a small college by design. That means:

    • Smaller class sizes (so your voice is heard)

    • Teachers who know you by name

    • Personalised support throughout your journey

Our team is committed not just to teaching, but to walking alongside you, encouraging, equipping, and sometimes challenging you as you grow.

Because studying the Bible isn’t just academic, it’s deeply personal.

“I’m going through a tough season, can I really take this on?”

Life isn’t always predictable. Seasons of stress, grief, or uncertainty can make study feel out of reach.

But this is often where transformation begins.

At ACCS, support isn’t just academic, it’s holistic. We offer:

      • Access to free, confidential counselling services

      • Support for personal, financial, or study-related challenges

      • A genuine community of students who walk alongside each other

You’re not just enrolling in a course, you’re stepping into a community that cares.

As Scripture reminds us, “Carry each other’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). That’s something we take seriously.

“I can’t afford to study right now.”

This is one of the biggest barriers, and a very real one.

But there are options available that many people don’t realise.

        At ACCS:

        • Eligible students can access FEE-HELP, meaning you don’t need to pay upfront

        • Fees are structured per subject and charged after the census date for flexibility

        • Scholarships are available for eligible students

We believe that financial circumstances shouldn’t prevent someone from stepping into their calling.

If this is something you’re concerned about, we encourage you to explore your options further in our prospectus or reach out for a conversation.

          “What if I’m not ‘ready’?”

The truth is, most people don’t feel ready.

But readiness isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about willingness.

In Philippians 1:6, we’re reminded that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

Studying at ACCS isn’t just about gaining knowledge. It’s about:

          • Growing in your faith

          • Being shaped in community

          • Becoming more like Jesus through the journey

You don’t need to arrive ready, you just need to be open.

            So… what’s your next step?

If you’ve been thinking about studying, consider this your invitation to explore, not commit, just explore.

Take a look through the prospectus to learn more about:

            • Courses

            • Study options

            • Support available

            • Financial pathways

Or simply reach out for a conversation. We’d love to hear your story, answer your questions, and help you discern what’s next.

Because this isn’t just about study.

              It’s about transformation.
